Evaluation Protocol: Objective Measurement

Evaluation Protocol

Objective Measurement of Physical Transitions

At Cell Healer, we do not rely on subjective feelings or ambiguous sensations. Progressive diseases demand rigorous, objective physical data.
To properly utilize the Cell Healer device and verify the optimization of the cellular environment, it is imperative to track specific, measurable metrics over time. Below is our standardized protocol for evaluating physical transitions in ALS and Muscular Dystrophy.

1. ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) Metrics

A. Respiratory Function (Crucial)

Do not rely on “feeling breathless.” Use a digital home spirometer to record objective pulmonary data.

  • FVC (Forced Vital Capacity): Record the numerical value (Liters) weekly.
  • SpO2 (Blood Oxygen Saturation): Monitor daily using a pulse oximeter, especially post-intervention.

B. Bulbar Function & Articulation

Subjective listening is unreliable due to daily fluctuations. Create chronological audio records.

  • Phonation Testing: Record the patient speaking specific consonant sounds (e.g., “Sa”, “Ra”) and a standardized short sentence once a week.
  • Swallowing Observation: Log the frequency of choking incidents per meal.

C. Motor Function & Extremities

  • Grip Strength: Measure using a digital dynamometer (kg/lbs) bi-weekly.
  • Range of Motion (ROM): Record video of maximum limb elevation (e.g., raising arms, lifting legs while seated) from a fixed camera angle.

2. Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD, LGMD, DMD/BMD) Metrics

A. Physical Muscle Volume

Visual estimation is insufficient. Use a measuring tape at consistent anatomical landmarks.

  • Circumference Measurement: Measure thighs, calves, and upper arms at the exact same point (e.g., 15cm above the patella) bi-weekly.

B. Gait & Core Stability

  • Fall Frequency: Strictly log the number of falls or near-falls per week.
  • Timed Walk Test: Measure the time (in seconds) it takes to walk a flat, straight 10-meter (33 ft) distance.
  • Postural Video: Record standing posture and gait mechanics from the front and side to observe shifts in pelvic stability and lordosis.

C. Specific ROM (e.g., FSHD)

  • Scapular Mobility: Document the maximum angle of shoulder elevation and the physical movement of the scapula through video tracking.

Why We Demand Objective Records

The Cell Healer is a high-precision physical intervention device. If you apply the device without tracking these metrics, you will miss the micro-transitions that indicate cellular elicitation. We strongly advise setting up your measurement protocol before your first session.
